The Greater Cherry Hill Chess Club is an affiliate of the United States Chess Federation.
Our club exists to provide area players a place to compete in formal U.S.C.F. rated tournaments on a monthly basis.
We compete one Saturday per month in the conference room of the Cherry Hill Library.
The club also seeks to promote chess and educate people about all aspects
of the game. To this end, Dan Herman, club founder and tournament director, has taught free workshops for members of
the Cherry Hill community interested in playing and learning more about chess. Likewise, members have also been able
to learn from a prominent Grandmaster, one-on-one.
Chess players of all abilities
are welcome at our tournaments. We have 2 sections, game 60 quads and game 30 Swiss. While both events attract
players of all ability levels, most Masters choose to play in the Swiss. In fact, each of the 3 most recent tournaments
attracted 4 or more Chess Masters.
